The seminar is the third unfoldment in a series of public events developed by The Miracle Workers Collectivefor the Land Pavilion (Pavilion of Finland) at the 58th International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. The Iteration continues our conversations concerning practices of rematriation of Sámi belongings, collective healing, and intangible diasporic archives at their intersection with contemporary art. The Kárášjohka Iteration is developed by members of the Collective; Maryan Abdulkarim, Giovanna Esposito Yussif, Outi Pieski, Martta Tuomaala, and Suvi West, as well as invited collaborations by Eeva-Kristiina Harlin, Niillas Holmberg, Biret Elle Láilá/Laila Somby Sandvik, Jenni Laiti and Sunna Nousuniemi.

In 2019 the Pavilion of Finland at the 58th Venice Biennale will host the Miracle Workers Collective (MWC). The MWC is formed and informed by artists, filmmakers, writers, intellectuals, performers, and activists.

Its founding members include Curator Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, artist and activist Outi Pieski, Associate Curator Giovanna Esposito Yussif, Associate Curator Christopher Wessels and spatial designer Lorenzo Sandoval.
